Meet Toshi and Steve

Toshi, an expert in value creation, and Steve, a retail industry veteran, are a unique team that has created a program unlike any in retail.

Toshi Shibano, PhD, has been delivering value creation programs for the last 23 years world-wide at GE, Longs Drug, and other Fortune 500 companies. He has served 22 years on business school faculties at Stanford, Berkeley, Chicago and Columbia. He comes from a long family history in retail. He believes that, when retail executives fully understand and are aligned with their CEO’s value creation objectives, they will make better decisions and create more value.

Steve McCann served as EVP and CFO of Longs Drugs, a $5 billion Fortune 500 company, from 2000 until it was acquired by CVS Caremark in 2008. Prior to Longs, Mr. McCann served as SVP of Finance at Service Merchandise, a 400-store specialty catalog showroom retailer, and as VP and Controller of Robinsons-May, a 60 store, $1.6 billion division of the May Department Stores. He believes that aligning executives with the company’s long term value objectives may be the most effective and important task of corporate leadership.
